Boris Johnson’s leadership crisis has created the worst situation for DUP

Evidence shows Boris Johnson’s leadership has created the worst situation for DUP. Northern Ireland Protocol is a critical situation in that Boris Johnson’s leadership has been an essential crisis in this path.

The Johnson administration has taken Northern Ireland hostage over Brexit

Alex Kane, former Ulster Unionist Party head of communications, also warned that Tory party infighting could have far-reaching consequences for the North’s power-sharing structures.

If Boris Johnson’s leadership is proven in the Parliament on Monday, it is unclear what the consequence of post-Brexit commercial agreements will be.

“The trouble is that at this moment, Johnson is crippled, and the DUP needs him,” said Mr Kane.

“He wasn’t perfect for them when he was at the height of his powers just over a year ago.

That will be the worry. Whatever the DUP are saying publicly, they know that a weekend Johnson is a massive problem for them, particularly if he has 148 MPs whose vote he can no longer rely on,” said Mr Kane.” It’s the worst possible position the DUP could have been in; it has constantly been throwing every unionist egg in the Tory basket.”

Ambiguity in the formation of the new Northern Ireland Cabinet

DUP leader Jeffry Donaldson wrote to party members on Tuesday: “must now make good commitments restoring Northern Ireland’s place within the UK internal market and dealing with the union-dismantling Northern Ireland protocol”.

Mr Donaldson added: “if the protocol is not resolved, then Northern Ireland will be without a devolved government.”

The North is currently without a functioning Assembly as the DUP refuses to elect a speaker unless their concerns are addressed.

Sinn Fein deputy leader Michelle O’Neil, who is the North’s designed first minister, said the outcome of Monday’s vote “didn’t change anything: as Conservative party division will not help efforts to restore the Stormont executive:

“Whether it’s Boris Johnson or any other Tory leader, the Tories are bad for workers and families. They’ve brought us austerity; they’ve foisted Brexit upon us and all the Covid mess. Everything the Tories do is not good for people here.”

Pragmatism is lost in the Northern Ireland Protocol

However, the DUP’s Gavin Robinson played down the fallout, insisting the same issues remain on the table “irrespective of who is high offices in London.” Speaking to the Irish Times from Westminster, he said: “My view is; you can get involved in the highs and lows of Politics, but there needs to be a level of pragmatism with all the actors- and that includes the UK government, the Irish Government and the European Commission.

“We’ve been very clear from the start that we’re interested in action, not words, and action will come not only in the publication of the (protocol) bill but the passage of the bill.

The Government has held open the prospect that there’ll be a negotiated solution without the need for the bill; if that’s reached and addresses our issues, we’ll be delighted. It’ll solve the problem and allow us to restore devolution.

“And so irrespective of whether Boris Johnson stays or chooses to go-or forced to go-the same solutions will be required to restore political stability and fruition of the Belfast Agreement that has stood as well for so long.”

Inefficiency in Boris Johnson’s leadership will have terrible consequences for DUP

Boris Johnson has no credibility among the DUP amid NI protocol crisis talks. Boris Johnson will lead fierce negotiations on Northern Ireland’s protocol today as he has lost all credibility among the unionist DUP, a GB News correspondent has said.

Indeed, according to the experts, PM doesn’t have any credibility inside communities. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is poised to greenlight controversial legislation on the Northern Ireland Protocol as he heads to Belfast for crucial meetings to broker the political stalemate.

The Prime Minister will have to tread a fine line between the unionist party DUP who oppose the protocol, and the EU, who threatened a trade war, should Government scarp the protocol.

DUP leader Sir Jeffry Donaldson has blocked the formation of a government over creating an Irish Sea customs border that he said would exacerbate the cost-of-living crisis and further separate Northern Ireland from Great Britain.

GB News’ Northern Ireland reporter Dougie Beattie says Boris Johnson won’t stand a chance in the talks and will likely face scepticism from the DUP.

GB News’ Dougie Beattie told GB News’ viewers: “It’s all about credibility. Boris Johnson is absolutely none inside unionist communities here.

“he said there would be no border.” “Liz Truss has promised they would sort it out.”

“Gove has promised he would sort it out. Frost has promised he would sort it out. Nothing has been sorted out.

Even Dougie Beattie says Boris Johnson will face scepticism from DUP amid protocol talks.

Since the EU and the UK formally agreed and signed the protocol in January 2020, the EU has refused to renegotiate the agreement.

The UK secretaries in charge of Brexit, such as Michael Gove and David Frost, have failed to bring about any change and subsequently resigned. The current Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss, has prepared a bill that could see some parts of the protocol scrapped.

The protocol has partly come into effect in January of this year, with goods being checked between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

“What’s got to remember, only 30 per cent of this protocol has yet come in”, Mr Beattie said. “We’re still in the greyest period.”

The impact of the lack of efficiency of Boris Johnson on DUP

Indeed, the inefficiency of Boris Johnson’s leadership has put DUP in the worst situation. The previous chief of this party, Ulster, has said that the inside conflicts in the party can have terrible consequences for dividing power in the North.

So, sir Jeffery Donaldson, DUP leader, said that if the problems of DUP don’t get solved, Northern Ireland will remain a country without a transparent government.

Indeed, Boris Johnson has faced terrible crises to committing repetitive mistakes these days. So his position these days has caused DUP to be in the most complicated situation about Northern Ireland Protocol.According to a leading political commentator, Boris Johnson’s leadership crisis has created the worst situation for DUP over the Northern Ireland Protocol.

Alex Kane, a former Ulster Unionist Party head of communications, also warned that Tory Party infighting could have far-reaching consequences for the North’s power-sharing structures.

After the time that Boris Johnson could won the confidence vote on Monday, there is a big concern about the effects of challenges to new laws after Brexit.

“The trouble is that at this moment, Johnson is crippled, and the DUP needs him,” said Mr Kane. “He wasn’t perfect for them when he was at the height of his powers just over a year ago.

That will be the worry.

Whatever the DUP are saying publicly, they know that a weekend Johnson is a massive problem for them, particularly if he has 148 MPs whose vote he can no longer rely on,” said Mr Kane.

“It’s the worst possible position the DUP could have been in; the DUP has constantly been throwing every unionist egg in the Tory basket.”

Now there is a big problem. This is when Boris Johnson doesn’t have enough power, and Dup’s destiny is dependent on him.

Sir Jeffery Donald Son has stated that Boris Johnson must try to have a good treatment with Northern Ireland and do something to solve the problem of Northern Ireland protocol.

Mr Donaldson added: “if the protocol is not resolved, Northern Ireland will be without a devolved government.”
