What are the reasons for the increase in violence in the UK?

For what reasons has the number of anxiety increased in the UK?

What effect have economic problems had on the UK’s social relations restriction in recent years?

What have been the actions of the UK government to support vulnerable British households?

The survey results show that a third of the British have faced depression due to the significant increase in prices and living costs, and at the same time, mental health institutions have warned against the rise in suicides. The psychological problems of the British are worrying.

Increase in violence in the UK

The psychological problems of the British are increasing. As families are facing rising costs these days and the UK government is under much pressure to deal with the inflation crisis, in a survey, people were asked how the current inflation has affected them and their families. In response to this question, more than 60% of the participants said their worry has increased compared to 6 months ago, and nearly a third feel angry.

Anxiety on the rise in the UK

According to a survey in the UK, it has been found that seven out of every ten citizens of this country feel anxious at the beginning of the work week due to the tensions related to it. The government has launched a series of mental health programs known as Scary Sundays. The survey, conducted between 21 and 26 September, showed that 67% of British people dread the working days ahead. In this survey, it has been revealed that this fear and anxiety among young people between the ages of 18 and 24 is about 74%.

The dilemma of heating the house or feeding the family

The Psychological problems of the British are directly related to the economic situation. Reports show that millions of Britons struggle with rising energy prices and record inflation. With the average cost of a tank of petrol surpassing £100 for the first time and the cost of food rising, many of this country’s people are left with the dilemma of heating their homes or feeding their families.

Livelihood problems that limit social relations

According to reports, the wholesale price of gas in January 2022 is nearly four times higher than in early 2021. As a result, almost 48 percent of the Sky News survey participants said they had reduced their home heating. A third of them have reduced social relations due to increased food prices. At the same time, four out of 10 people who participated in this survey said they switched to shopping at cheaper stores to reduce household expenses.

Livelihood problems cause mental health problems

At the same time, charities active in the mental health field also say that they have faced an increase in demand for services from Britons who are struggling to cope with the rising cost of living. According to Adam Crampsie, chief executive of Mental Health Concern, a charity supported by the NHS, a fifth of people on low incomes are at risk, three times more than wealthier families. He was suffering from mental health problems. He added: “We know people in Britain’s lowest 20% income bracket are two to three times more likely to develop mental health problems than those in the highest. In the face of what the Office for Budget Responsibility calls the biggest hit to household finances since comparable records began, the Chancellor has done nothing more for those dependent on benefits, the very poorest.

Warning against the growth of suicide statistics

The Psychological problems of the British have led to an increase in the number of suicides. The executive director of this mental health institution warned that if the necessary budget is not increased according to the demand, the rate of suicide among people will increase unprecedentedly. On the other hand, the UK government has announced that it is presenting a package designed to reduce the suffering caused by the cost of living of vulnerable households.

Government measures to support vulnerable households

In this regard, a government spokesperson told Sky News: “I’ve said the normal, ordinary statutory process is ongoing, but of course, the Government is mindful of the cost-of-living pressures people face.” He added that this year the government would support eight million of the most vulnerable households, and all household electricity subscribers would receive at least 400 pounds.

Covid and the war in Ukraine are the leading cause of food chain disruption

Rishi Sunak, the Former UK chancellor, recently stated that the Covid-19 crisis was the leading cause of the trouble in the food supply chain, after which the Russian attack on Ukraine has caused an increase in energy prices.

The psychological problems of the British have been ignored so far. Livelihood problems and work tensions in this country have caused an increase in the number of anxiety and mental issues and an increase in the number of suicides and depression. So mental health organizations have expressed concern about the impact of the growing cost of living and energy crisis on the mental health of the people of the UK, who have already been significantly affected by Covid-19.
