Human rights sacrifice over Oil and pollutants

Human rights sacrifice over Oil and pollutants.

Human rights sacrifice over Oil and pollutants.

British PM Boris Johnson is visiting Riyadh to persuade the Prince to pump more Oil to wean the country off its dependence on Russian Oil. On Tuesday, the US and UK announced a ban on Russian oil and gas imports as sanctions escalated over the Ukraine crisis.

Concerns about removing Russian oil from the energy market

UK Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said Britain would “phase out” the sense of Russian Oil by the end of the year, and he is “exploring options” to phase out natural gas imports altogether. Already oil prices have made living expensive in the country as fuel prices at the pumps have reached record levels, topping £1.60 a litre for petrol and £1.70 for diesel, according to the RAC’s latest figures. The potential trip emerged when Saudi carried out what is believed to be the world’s largest known mass execution in its modern history. In decades’ most significant mass execution, Saudi Arabia announced that it executed 81 men, including seven Yemenis and one Syrian, for terrorism and other offences, including holding “deviant beliefs”.

Energy Crisis is the first-hand consequence of the Russia Ukraine Conflict.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has already created the world’s economy and has the potential to do more damage if it doesn’t end quickly. The sharp rise in the price of energy carriers in Britain and the breaking of the cost of gasoline in Britain have seriously endangered the position of Boris Johnson and his government in the eyes of British public opinion. Some countries are already in search of an alternative to petroleum products. But these crises can’t be resolved for at least a few years if the situation does not improve. Besides this, Iran’s nuclear deal has taken a new turn after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov abruptly introduced a new demand: the sanctions imposed on Russia because it invaded Ukraine shouldn’t prevent it from doing business with Iran.

The USA and her Allies didn’t want to allow a loophole through which Russia could escape sanctions pressure. But the demand was enough to bring the negotiations in Vienna to a halt, which was the fundamental objective: By postponing a revival of the nuclear deal, Russia is keeping the West from getting its hands on Iranian Oil and gas.

How does Saudi Oil make her infallible?

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia executed 81 individuals, the largest mass execution recorded in modern history. The individuals were accused of various crimes, including murder, association with terrorist groups al Qaeda and Islamic State and support for Yemen’s Houthi rebels – Saudi Arabia is at war with the latter. The majority killed were Saudi but also Yemeni and one Syrian. Saudi state media said the accused “were provided with the right to an attorney and were guaranteed their full rights under Saudi law during the judicial process.”

But critics and human rights organizations questioned the ISIL styled executions, saying some of the individuals had been tortured and were convicted in secret trials; among them was Abdullah Zaher. When he was arrested, he was just 13 years old. It is not difficult to understand how come a kid who lived an entire life in prison can be a threat to the security and sovereignty of the Saudi Kingdom if the whole judicial process is understood. Some critics also alleged that more than three dozen of the executed were Shiites.

Shiites have long complained about being treated as second-class citizens in the country’s east. Past executions of Shiites have sparked regional unrest: On Saturday, protests took place in neighbouring Bahrain, a Shiite-majority kingdom. Human rights advocates have warned that the royal has also cracked down on dissidents and critics and said he ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Not to mention the sufferings of the innocent Yemeni population, in addition to starvation, they are living under the shade of English rockets and bombs projected from Saudi Arabia.

When Health Secretary Sajid Javid said, Britain had a direct relationship with the country. However, it was also “necessary to recognize, whether we like it or not, that Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s largest oil producers “it looked like Saudi Prince had a License to execute his opponents and even order to kill anyone in his embassies in other countries.

Saudi Arabia has also confirmed the establishment of a nuclear energy holding company that will aid in developing atomic facilities in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia currently plans to construct two large nuclear power reactors. Does anybody seem to move by this? No answer is Saudi Oil in the market is of more worth right now than this.

Boris Johnson’s respect for Human Rights.

PM Boris Johnson‘s visit to Riyadh is seen by human rights watch as a turn a blind eye to recent Executions carried out by Prince. Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman is said to have snubbed a request from Joe Biden to have a call on the issue of oil supply as the West tries to wean itself off Russian fossil fuels. But Mr Johnson is believed to have a better relationship with bin Salman than the US President, whose links have been strained since the killing of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Alongside the international push on oil production, there are claims that the government is looking at extending the lift of coal power stations in the UK.

It is worth mentioning that the UK has not stopped the supply of weapons to Saudi for the Yemen war. Britain also refuses to accept Ukrainian asylum seekers; it has not set up a route for Ukrainian refugees to reach UK shores. It was seen as thousands headed to the border following the Russian invasion. The human rights and protection of the Ukrainian people are irrelevant to the Johnson administration and the British Conservatives. Britain wanted to harm its enemy Russia thus supported and is indirectly supporting till it felt safe.

The Ukraine president requested Britain to help him with the military was rejected, and it proved that the UK was not going to mess up his nation for any others. This move was a blow over Ukraine as Britain was the country that was encouraging it to fight Russia and had promised it so much aid. Now UK president has also refused to accept Ukrainian asylum seekers. It has not set up a route for Ukrainian refugees to reach UK shores. The UK has stopped accepting visa applications from Ukrainians stuck in the country, meaning there is no safe and legal route to seek asylum in Britain unless they have British relatives.

Conclusion

War has always brought destruction and misery to the civilian population, but some seek to benefit from war. There was no better time for Saudi Prince to take benefit. When he has the upper hand, why should he waste it? Besides his flourishing oil sale, he ordered ISIL styled execution of 81 people who know were provided judicial rights like the right to an attorney. It is not the first time Saudi has done this, nor will it be the last. But for Mr Johnson, it is the moment for him to help deliver more Oil and gas flows from Saudi Arabia so he can shut down Putin’s war machine sooner. Nobody is talking about his credibility in Judging Russia over the Ukraine war as he, along with his masters in Washington, has lost that for decades.
